Veterinarians of Apple Valley Animal HospitalClifford L. Jessen, DVM, Owner

Dr. Clifford L. Jessen hails originally from Lexington, Nebraska. Since opening Apple Valley Animal Hospital in 1987, he has been providing highly skilled, compassionate veterinary medicine to dogs, cats, birds and many exotic pets in the High Desert for over 30 years. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University. Dr. Jessen is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association.

When not at work, Dr. Jessen enjoys cycling, exercising, singing, traveling and "any activity involving family time together." He and his wife Karen, who is the Hospital Manager, have five children, five grandchildren, a chocolate Lab named Dane and a calico cat named Slash. Dr. Jessen is also an active member of the Rotary Club of Apple Valley, sings in his church choir, and volunteers with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, where he serves as a Wish Granter.

Dr. Dayle Siegel joined Apple Valley Animal Hospital in April 2011. From Buffalo Grove, Illinois, she has wanted to help animals since she was very young. Dr. Siegel earned her bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from St. George's University School of Veterinary Medicine. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the California Veterinary Medical Association. Her professional interests include internal medicine, dermatology, dentistry, acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine.

She finds great satisfaction in her ability to accurately diagnose and treat a patient. "When the outcome is good, I'm happy," she says.

Dr. Siegel is married to Dr. Jacob Johnson, an equine veterinarian, and they have two daughters. The family cares for many dogs and cats; a Palomino Quarter Horse named Dude; a Big Horn sheep named Preston; seven chickens; six red-eared slider turtles; and fish. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading and playing the piano and bassoon.

St. Augustine, Florida native Dr. Linda Jenkins remembers first learning about what a veterinarian does when she was 7 years old and being very intrigued. She earned her bachelor's degree in animal science from Sacramento State University and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Western University Health Sciences College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Jenkins joined the Apple Valley Animal Hospital team in September 2013.

Dr. Jenkins is a member of the Southern California Veterinary Medical Association, the California Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. Surgery is her main professional interest.

In her free time Dr. Jenkins enjoys spending time with family, friends and pets, exercising, gardening and the theater. She has two daughters, Christina and Angelina, and a terrier mix named Ritz. She is also an active member of Salem Lutheran Church in Orange.
