Comfort and Safety for Your Pet, Peace of Mind for You

Whether traveling for business or pleasure, you shouldn’t spend time worrying about who is taking care of your dog, cat, bird or exotic pet. This is especially true if your pet has a chronic or acute medical condition that requires a caregiver with veterinary knowledge and experience.

Rather than impose on a neighbor or rely on a pet sitter with little animal care training, bring your pet to Apple Valley Animal Hospital where veterinary-supervised boarding is affordable, safe and comfortable. Our caring, experienced staff is dedicated to providing personal attention to your pet. Any special health needs such as medicine administration, food preparation, and exercise requirements will all be reviewed with you.

All of our Apple Valley pet boarding rooms are temperature controlled and your pet will rest on fresh, clean towels or comforters. We feed all our guests high-quality prescription pet food, but you are welcome to bring your own food if your pet is on a special diet. All dogs are walked three times per day. During your pet’s stay we are happy to offer specialized care such as a full examination, pedicure, bath and anal gland expression.

Daycare Service

Daycare service is available for those days that your dog or cat can’t stay at home. We provide a comfortable, temperature-controlled kennel and three walks per day. If you would like to make a reservation, please call us at 760-242-5400. We require reservations for all pet boarders. The boarding and daycare hours for drop-off and pick-up are the same as our hospital hours.

  • We require all boarding and daycare DOGS to be current 72 hours prior to check-in on the following vaccinations: Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella
  • We require all boarding and daycare CATS to be current 72 hours prior to check-in on the following vaccinations: Rabies, RCP

Please vaccinate your dog or cat prior to the check-in date. If your pet has been vaccinated at another facility, we must have a copy of the current vaccination record in our file, preferably prior to check-in. It is your responsibility to make sure your veterinarian has faxed this record to us and that we have received it.

To protect the well-being of the pets in our care, we reserve the right to refuse any pet for boarding that may have a contagious illness.

Grooming services at Apple Valley Animal Hospital are based on medical needs only. Our skilled and experienced staff provide baths and medical shaves for dogs and cats when medically necessary. These are usually done to address severe coat problems such as mats, hot spots, foxtails or other skin issues.
